Hello! I’m Kathy Rowland, owner and only employee of Roworth Technology. I live in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

I love helping people do their jobs better and more efficiently by providing solutions that work! I am able to do this through the use of technology tools that provide creative ways to design intranet content, create videos and develop documentation.

Roworth is a boutique consulting business that began in 1989 serving corporate, government and education clients throughout North Carolina. The primary focus of the business is to provide technology related solutions and services through project management, training, implementations, and content management consulting.
History
My career started when I launched a technology training company, offering hands-on instruction in WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3. I wrote and printed all my own training materials, which gave me a strong foundation in both content development and delivery. Along the way, I also taught Continuing Education and Business courses at several regional community colleges. That path eventually led me to a global technology company in Charlotte, where I spent five years teaching technology classes. Each of these teaching experiences introduced me to people who would later become long-term clients.
Transitioning into technology project management felt like a natural next step, especially with a strong focus on implementations. For many of my clients, I’ve delivered full turn-key solutions—managing projects from start to finish, developing and implementing the right technologies, and providing the training to ensure long-term success.
Approach
Life experience has taught me that things go more smoothly when expectations are clearly set upfront—and then met whenever possible. And when they can’t be met, honest and timely communication is key. When I miss the mark, I own it. I appreciate and enjoy working with customers who approach things the same way.
At the beginning of a customer engagement, I like to spend a generous amount of time with my customers finding out what they want and need. I do this by asking many questions, and sometimes repeatedly.
I’m big on verbal communication. I find great value in talking to people.
I work hard and am honest.
I have high expectations of myself and those with whom I work (but do not expect perfection from me or others….really).
It is my passion to improve others’ work life by providing technology solutions that result in my customer saying, “I LOVE this! It makes my job so much easier!”
I really like people, and am energized by them.
I am fun and enjoy being around other fun people.
I don’t take myself or my work too seriously (or at least I try not to).
